This shows Hester places her assurance most importantly and can step out of her seclusion by offering back to her locale. These activities empower her to fit in again as a typical resident and make up for herself as the lady she realizes she can be.All altogether, it is hard for some individuals to look past their own grievous circumstances and the activities for which they hold regret. Notwithstanding, in contrast to numerous others, Hester is in the end ready to simply that. Hester encounters a lot of enduring because of her past wrongdoing of infidelity, yet in spite of that she is as yet ready to beat that through her poise and solid will. With that I may persevere through his desolation, just as mineâ⬠(Hawthorne 63). She obviously acknowledged her transgression and remained solid herself as well as for Pearl and the other around her to turn up at ground zero before the finish of the novel. The Scarlet Letter gives incredible difficulties to Hester, however she doesn't let the battles get to her. An unlikely haven for new plays Essay Example For Students
An unlikely haven for new plays Essay The unveiling of a new play by Edward Albee at an American professional theatre is a rare event, but it will happen this fall at Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. Lee Blessing is working on his second world premiere at the theatre in as many years. A new Eric Overmyer piece is expected to be on the companys slate a year from now, and the latest unproduced Michael Weller composition just arrived in the mail. For a tiny theatre created with $200 in the summer of 1986, that is an impressive stable of writers. But then the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati is the kind of operation that takes particular pride in accomplishing the unexpected. Simply housed in a former bank in an eclectic but troubled inner-city neighborhood named Over the Rhine, ETC appears an unlikely candidate for rapid growth and national prominence in the area of commissioning new work. For a start, the theatres annual budget is under $750,000, and the full-time staff numbers only nine. No one has a proper office, and artistic director David White sits in a cubicle at the back of the auditorium, shielded only by flimsy screens from the current performance. There is hardly any budget for advertising, so the theatre relies almost entirely on free media coverage and direct-mail campaigns. The company operates on a Small Professional Theatre agreement with Actors Equity Association and has never auditioned outside its home city, casting all its shows from its own company of local actors. Outline1 Beating the oddsà 2 A dear playwright letterà 3 Maximum flexibilityà Beating the oddsà Worries about the neighborhood oblige the theatre to hire a security guard to watch cars. Just a couple of miles away sits a grand competitor, the Cincinnati Playhouse-in-the-Park, a long-established theatre with a comparatively hefty budget, impressive physical plant, solid reputation for new plays, and an idyllic setting removed from urban blight. Furthermore, this is Cincinnati, Ohio, a city notorious in artistic circles for the Mapplethorpe trial and pervasive conservatism. Whatever the odds against success, ETC managing director John Vissman recounts figures that would be the envy of many larger regional houses. Subscriptions have increased by 264 percent over the past three years; the budget and single-ticket sales have tripled. The theatre is currently adding to its 134-seat capacity, due to many shows attracting far more people than there are seats to fill. The final production of last season, an original adaptation of Zorro, broke box-office records and was extended several times. Virtually singlehandedly, ETC has created a strong pool of Equity actors in a city that used to be a union wasteland. And all this growth has been achieved by devoting three-quarters of each season to original work-33 of the 46 plays produced during the theatres first seven years have been world premieres. Weve carved out a niche in Cincinnati, says artistic director White. Most of the other arts organizations have been around here for a long time. Our audience is younger. Box-office income has swelled each Christmas with ETCs annual production of a rambunctious English pantomime, a popular and original family choice in a city where there are already five versions of A Christmas Carol within a 50-mile radius. Familiar television faces have also piqued audience interest: WKRPs Gary Sandy played Stanley in Streetcar a few years back, and Rosanne star Sara Gilbert made her stage debut in Gary Stewarts Downwinder Dance. White also hired Rebecca Miller to direct her fathers After the Fall last season, ensuring that Arthur Miller would show up to chat with delighted subscribers. By pooling resources with the University of Cincinnati and offering opportunities to teach, ETC was able to persuade (and finance) Albee to direct two of his own plays Everything in the Garden in 1990 and Seascape last fall. That developing relationship led Albee to agree to write a new play, Fragments, with ETC specifically in mind. The Blessing premiere next March will be a co-production with the Theatre in the Square of Marietta, Ga.; the show will feature a cast and design team staffed and funded by members of both theatres. .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 , .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 .postImageUrl , .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 , .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2:hover , .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2:visited , .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2:active { border:0!important; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2:active , .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2 .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u7f1e77c71d5c2883888205cbf7057cf2:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: A critic in every port: familiar dangers Essay A dear playwright letterà White has succeeded in making his theatre an attractive place for both established and local playwrights to develop their work. How? I sent a letter to the 12 playwrights I admired most, he recounts. I told them about our facility, our finances and our company. I wanted to see what their response would be. Lee Blessing remembers White calling him out of the blue to offer a commission, and he was impressed with the offer. Using money from Richard and Lois Rosenthal, a wealthy local couple known for sponsoring a new play contest each year at the Cincinnati Playhouse, White offered Blessing a sizable fee. But Blessings decision to accept (and ultimately write a dark but well-received drama called Lake Street Extension) had more to do with the flexibility he was offered. First, White was willing to allow Blessing to work with his preferred director, Jeanne Blake, who is also his wife. Some theatres can accommodate that more easily than others, observes Blessing. Often artistic directors insist on directing the play themselves. White also offered the author free choice in determining the nature of the commissioned play. Many times a theatre will try to commission a play with the subject matter already in mind, notes Blessing. Thats not a way of working that I usually can accept . ETC just a sked me to tell them once I knew what it would be about. Maximum flexibilityà The one non-negotiable area is that the plays must be cast from the local ensemble. We had no problem doing that, Blessing states. They have a lot of good, competent actors who have done enough work with well-known people that none of that fazes them. Offering writers maximum flexibility often means ETC must be willing to take risks that might worry larger theatres. Albee has visited Cincinnati and already cast Fragments with four men and four women. But long after the show had been announced, no one at ETC had seen a script. And other than a vague idea that the play would be concerned with contemporary romantic relationships, ETC seemed not to have the slightest idea what form the play would take. White seemed unconcerned, explaining: We give playwrights free reign without any constraints. ETC knows that Blessings new play, The Rights, will be a comedy with a cast of six, probably some sort of farcical exploration of the nature of greed and power. But the script remains incomplete and Blessing is reluctant to offer details, in case everything should suddenly change. Despite the star names, ETC remains committed to local playwrights, offering them a commissioning fee and one or two mainstage productions each year. Local scribe Joe Smith, whose play Freemen and Lunatics premiered this summer, says he enjoys the theatres supportive family atmosphere as well as the chance to workshop a work-in-progress with company members. Much of the new work from local playwrights has come from an informal playwriting workshop that meets weekly at the theatre. Like any resident theatre, ETC has its problems. Grants from the Ohio Arts Council and other funding agencies have been drastically cut back. Theres a small deficit to worry about, as well as the problem of funding enough large-cast projects to give a company of 27 hungry actors enough work to keep them in town. Still, the city of Cincinnati is talking informally to the theatre about taking up residence in the new downtown performing arts center currently under construction, and the upcoming season should bring national visibility. Plans are also underway to expand office space, and build a second, cabaret-style theatre. At the center of what White likes to term a theatre with protein lies the playwright and new work. White justifiably looks forward to next spring when Fragments should have moved to New Yorks Signature Theatre, The Rights will be playing in Marietta, and a new drama by local author E. K. Bowles will be opening in Cincinnati. That will make three simultaneous productions in three different cities, all having begun in Ohio and all featuring actors from the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati.

1-3-1 ESSAY Essays - Smoking, Electronic Cigarettes, Tobacco, Habits
1-3-1 ESSAY Did you know three cigarettes could get one addicted? Every time one takes a puff of a cigarette they're playing a dangerous game with life. I always wondered, Why are cigarettes so deadly, what is in cigarettes, if people know they're deadly then why do they still smoke them, and finally why does the government allow people to buy these when they can kill you? Every time one smokes a cigarette it's like putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger with out knowing if the gun is loaded or not. I'll do what's within my ability to answer these questions in this essay. I browsed the internet (isn't it a wonderful tool?) and used other references and my knowledge to determine why cigarettes are addictive, unhealthy, and unappealing. If we could vote to make cigarettes illegal then I'd vote yes. If your vote is no then after you read this essay I hope you will vote yes and save millions of adult and CHILDREN lives. Cigarettes are very unappealing. Do you like the smell of an old used ashtray? I don't and most other people don't either. Well how would you like for smoking area to smell like that and wouldn't be able to do anything about it. You know how some smokers' teeth are yellow. This is one result of the tar staining their teeth. All white items in your smoking area could turn yellow as a result in the tar you exhale along with many other chemicals. Premature wrinkles are another result in smoking. Cigarettes are very unhealthy. If you knew what is in cigarettes you would think twice about even touching them. The basic substances are nicotine, tobacco, and TAR. Yes TAR that black smelly stuff that you have on your roof, in the streets, and if you smoke in your lungs. These are some other substances used to make cigarettes: Uranium, water, Carbon Dioxide. These chemicals are also used to make nuclear bombs. I guess smokers enjoy smoking nuclear bombs. Some side effects of smoking are many forms of cancer, thickening of the blood, making the arteries thinner and smaller, cancer of the vocal cords You'll have to talk out of a microphone in you're neck, and could cause constant Bronchitis. Addiction is probably the worst part. Before I explain what addiction is like I'm going to tell you about the process of addiction. 1. You light the cigarette. 2. You smoke two or three. 3. That dizziness is the nicotine traveling throughout your body. 4. The nicotine takes effect and you want another and another and so on. 5. You're addicted. Now for what it's like. Every time you get angry or sad you want a cigarette. If you've had a stressful day you may want one after a day's work to calm your nerves. If you have no way of getting them you'll steal them or get other people to steal them for you. You may also get others to buy cigarettes for you, or buy them from other people and get ripped off. For those of you who voted no earlier and changed to yes, good for you. For those of you who voted no and kept your vote remember smoking is unhealthy, unappealing, and very addictive. I hope I answered many of your questions. Thank you for taking time to read my essay. I hope you will agree with me that cigarettes should be illegal.

Pro-Abortion essays
Pro-Abortion essays Imagine that you have just been informed that you or your girlfriend is pregnant. This drastic news will completely change your entire future. All of the hopes and dreams that a young, college student obtains are completely and quickly abolished. That is why according to Planned Parenthood.com, 71% young adults between the ages of seventeen to twenty two first think of abortion as their answer. But then imagine that time, months, and even trimesters pass and you still don't know what to do. It's such a hard decision that will change your life either way. According to Jimmy Moore, a writer for the Talon News in Washignton on Wed Nov 4, 2003, stated that a new a law, oulawing "partial-birth abortions," will soon take effect was quickly passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate. It was then given to President Bush who had been eager to sign it into law since his State of the Union address in January, even though President Clinton vetoed it in 1996 and 1997 after successfully passing through the House and Senate. Partial birth abortions are precedures that are usually performed during the fifth month, second trimester, or even later. The woman's cervix is dialted and the fetus is partially removed feet first. The surgeon inserts a sharp object into the fetus' head and is removed. The surgeon inserts a vacum tube which takes out all of the fetus' brains. Then the fetus is more easily removed from the womb. Many, including President Bush, see this as murder and want all practices to end. "I ask you to protect infants at the very hour of their birth and end the practice of partial-birth abortion" stated Bush in front of However, many see this new law that will take effect as a step back on women's rights. Usually women do this procedure because she is not ready for a child for whatever reason and has delayed, the fetus ha ...

The Indispensability of Business Simulation Exercise Essay
The Indispensability of Business Simulation Exercise - Essay Example The team has not worked well as it was expected to. There has been a lack of cohesion, lack of a collective attitude and members have rarely communicated to share on individualsââ¬â¢ progress and challenges that have faced them in the simulation process. We have also lacked identifiable qualities of good teams that perform collectively. The groupââ¬â¢s inability to merge its potentials eliminated positive effects of diversity, effects that promote collaborative work towards successful outputs. This means that our individual output levels have been less than the level of quality that we could have achieved had we incorporated ourselves into a single group and explored our knowledge for completing the simulation (Belbin 2012, n.p). The lack of teamwork also undermined interdependence for encouragements and motivation (A & amp; C Black 2009, 14- 15). The teamââ¬â¢s weak collectiveness also identifies communication challenges as a barrier to cohesion. This is because the team me mbers have never communicated with each other. Only one member has been effective in communication. Lack of interest in each otherââ¬â¢s contribution, poor attitudes, and cultural differences are possible causes of the realized poor communication into a less collective team (Means 2009, p. 12). The team did not illustrate significant signs of strength because even its existence was not felt in facilitating its objective. It however communicated diversified weaknesses that range from leadership, managerial and communication inefficiencies. Poor communication was a major factor because members, except one person, did not make efforts to consult with other team members on the simulationââ¬â¢s scope.

The Labyrinth of Political Beliefs Essay Example for Free
The Labyrinth of Political Beliefs Essay Perhaps the most interesting and complicated part of Politics is the way it involves people. Different political beliefs have developed through years, depending upon the principles a person believes in and depending on the circumstances and instances around him or what we call the agents of political socialization. Disputes and arguments with regards to political beliefs are clear and convincing evidence that Politics indeed plays a great role in our society. à à à à à à à à à à à Out of the surveys, it shows that I am a libertarian who supports maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. Statue of Liberty Ribbon Essays -- Architecture History
Statue of Liberty Ribbon The Statue of Liberty has served as the single most important symbol of the friendship between the two countries and the ideal of democracy since its unveiling on October 28, 1886. At the time it was the tallest structure in America. The statue was originally a gift to the United States. The relationship between the two countries dates back before the United States was an independent country (Kotler p7). The French were one of the first to explore and settle in North America. Louis Jolliet and Jaques Marquette traveled the Mississippi. Renà © Robert Cavelier, sieur de La Salle explored the Great Lakes and established Louisiana. Frenchmen built outposts on the Gulf of Mexico, founded New Orleans, and colonized New France from Louisiana to northeast Canada. Cell Phone Abuse
Cell Phone Abuse At the present day, with the development of IT and information industry, cell phone gradually plays an indispensable role in our daily life. Nonetheless, for the benefit of our concentration, health and social interaction around us, more attention should be paid to negative impact on the overuse of cell phone. According to a study of two hundred students at Sanford University revealed that 34 percent rated themselves as addicted to their phones, while 32 percent worried they someday would be addicted. As a matter of fact, a vast majority of people suffer from the same problems. It is not uncommon that when they get ready for the day, their cell phones go with them everywhere. Despite the convenience and efficiency cell phones bring them, they fail to take into account the fact that too much addition to phones contributes directly to be unable to concentrate well on daily affairs. For instance, on account of depending on constant contact and instant information, when e ven having classes, a great many students cannot help checking the message or email on phones surreptitiously.Furthermore, when working, driving, just hanging out with friends or doing whatever, to be honest, we are bound to be extremely attached to our phones with enjoying the pleasurable feelings from the act of texting or receiving messages. When it comes to my relationship with cell phone, exaggeratingly speaking, it seems that if I am not called, texted, or commented on my blog, my soul will be lost; hence, it prevents me from focusing on doing my assignments or having a sound sleep. Apparently, excessively obsessed with cell phone distract us from noticing what important happen around us and getting things well done.Admit it, no one can deny the basic fact that cell phone not only provides us with a huge amount of information and various of applications, but also enables us to contact our friends and family immediately and conveniently. However, we tend to live under the illus ion that cell phone can get us more associated with the people and the community nearby, without awareness of the hidden fact that it has crept into every aspect of daily life, ironically weakening the basic human communication. For one thing, with the increase of cell phone use, face-to-face conversations in relationships are unwittingly unpopular with most of us; instead, we prefer to convey our affections by text messaging and cell phone conversations. It is showed by a Verizon Wireless survey that for the Augusta area there are close to 50 percent of its customers send and receive more than 100 text messages a week. â⬠Moreover, Rick Pukis, an associate professor of communication at Augusta State University, says that texting may affect the way we interact with each other.Actually, as we all know, sometimes when we send the smile expressions in the messages, it is not exactly what we do on our faces. Worse still, in order to save time or just feel cool, we usually brief the words such as replacing ââ¬Å"areâ⬠with ââ¬Å"râ⬠, which may makes us run the risk of losing the ability to communicate completely and intelligently. On the other hand, spending too much time on calling up or texting the friends we already knew decreases the chance of developing friendships with strangers, cutting off new conversations and potential friends in the public. As a consequence, without doubt, cell phone builds a wall between the community and us, exerting a detrimental influence on our social interaction. But at the same time, cell phone benefits us a lot, too. On the one hand, mobiles make it convenient for people to keep in touch with each other at anytime anywhere. With phones in hand, even though being abroad, we still can immediately share our daily life with friends by uploading images on face book. In this way, friends will feel closer to us and be able to express their affections to us as they like.In the abundant sunshine of friends and our family th rough the phones, our life will be more colorful and powerful. Additionally, under the pressure of working or studying, one of the ideal ways to relax and refresh ourselves is to do some recreation. For example, we can release the stress and adjust the mood by playing some funny games and listening to music, which help us have a better state to continue our next tasks. Therefore, to some degree, smart phones increasingly play a significant role in our life.

Outsourcing A And Viable Option - 1559 Words
Triad has grown considerably in a relatively short amount of time. However, Triad is still a small company and similar companies of Triadââ¬â¢s size have traditionally seen outsourcing as a smart and viable option to optimize business processes and ultimately improve the bottom line. Itââ¬â¢s important that Triad assesses the pros and cons involved with outsourcing, such as cost/benefit, potential risks, contractual arrangements and service levels, and necessary controls, before making any changes. We should also define what operations we are considering outsourcing ââ¬â as opposed to a company-wide reorganization and what other functions we might be able to add as a result of outsourcing MIS IT solutions. While traditional software solutions address the needs of one process, enterprise software, which we might consider for our MIUS needs, addresses multiple ââ¬Å"thinkingâ⬠processes ââ¬â rather than a simple ââ¬Å"tool.â⬠An MIS usually exists as a computerized database of financial information organized in such a way that it produces regular reports on operations for every level of management. The main purpose of the MIS is to give managers feedback regarding performance; top management can readily and easily monitor the company as a whole. Information displayed by the MIS typically shows actual data against planned results from the year before, and a measure of progress to goals. The MIS receives data from company units and functions. How to Help Students not Running Out of Time - 619 Words
Although students have the potential to achieve satisfactory grades, they do not legitimately learn anything throughout their school career. Young people often forget what they have learned in school due to interference in memory. The failure to simply retrieve information from the brain also causes inattention in even the most intellectual students. Moreover, students need constant social relations with each other to flourish . No one has a craving to work in multiple, short class periods with pounds of homework to take care of later! School days should be extended two hours without homework assignments in order to successfully increase student productivity and efficiency. To begin, studies show that focusing on numerous ideas in brief time frames is not effective in retaining information. Evidence proves, however that focusing on a topic for two or more hours stabilizes waves of new information and can increase data retention. When adding a mere half-hour to each block in block sch eduling, having sufficient learning time is easily achievable. Because students are required to take a considerable amount of courses per term, about 79 percent must attend four to eight classes each day, according to most studies. Contemporary Accounting TheoryInternational Finance
Question: Discuss about the Contemporary Accounting Theory for International Finance. Answer: Introduction: International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Language of business in accounting and financial reporting is regarded as a medium through which language of accounting is communicated form one business to another. Accounting as well as the financial reporting has been regulated by the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). IFRS has been issued by the International Accounting Standard (IAS). It provides recognition, presentation, disclosure, measurement requirements in respect to the events which are presented in the financial statements. In 2001 IFRS was developed by the International Accounting Standard Board (IASB). These IFRS were developed to safeguard the interest of the public. It is single guide which assures high quality; inform accounting principles and understandable standards. Due to globalization, finance is gaining a worldwide growth. IFRS is regarded as a reliable manner through which financial information can be exchanged in a meaningful as well as in the trustworthy manner. Investor before investing g oes through the financial statement before making the investment decisions. Thus it is essential from investor's point of view that it reflects right information. IFRS are accounting standards which has been developed by IASB(Ilott, 2016). Today IFRS along with their fundamentals(Mathur, 2011)and principles have been applied in more than 100 nations around the globe. From 2005 onwards it has covered almost all European countries, it a non profits organization, monitoring board was also established to measure its activities and ensure the high quality service (Siddiqui, 2011). International Accounting Standard Committee (IASC): this committee was established in 1973 by France, Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Mexico, Japan, Australia, United Kingdom, USA, and Ireland through an agreement. The professional accountancy bodies of these nations formed a committee known as IASC, subsequently other members were added to the organization, and by 1982 all the members of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) were also the sponsoring members of IASC. The major components comprised of: IASC(Basu Saha, 2013) Board, consultative group, advisory council, standing interpretations committee, steering committee. The vision of ISAC is to provide more high quality globally accepted accounting standards as a result they changed the structure in 2000 and this committee was renamed as IASB. Thus from 2000 onwards functions of IASC are now performed by IASB(Deloitte, 2016).Initially international accounting standard were issued. IASs were issued by the IASC(Narayanswamy, 2014). These standards were issued between 1973 to 2001. In April 2001 there was change in the IASC which was taken over by the IASB. Now the responsibility for publishing new accounting standards vests with the IASB instead of the IASC. First meeting was conducted and it was decided that IASB will adopt the existing IAS (international accounting standard) as well as the Standing Interpretations Committee stan dards (SICs)(Shodhganga, 2016). IASB was established and formed in 2001, it was considered as the part of the IASC Foundation. In 2010 IASC was renamed as IFRS Foundation. Governance of IFRs foundation is vested upon the 22 trustees. IFRS foundation is responsible for appointing the IASB members, taking care of the financing of the company and associated committee. Standards issued by the IASB were known as the IFRS (Unegbu, 2014). Presently IFRS is applicable in many parts of the world including the Malaysia, European Union, GCC countries, Hong Kong, South Africa, Turkey. IFRS is applicable in more than 100 countries. IFRS is regarded as a common global language; through this accounts are comparable as well as understandable in the global world. Set of international accounting standard is known as IFRS. IFRS have been issued by the IASB. It states the procedures that how an accountant should maintain and report their accounts. IFRS (international financial reporting standards) maintains transparency as well as the stability in the finance world. IFRS are globally accepted standards. It provides a global marketplace(Rashid1 et al., 2012). It helps in accessing world capital markets. It also assists in promotion of new business. Quality of reporting internal communication within the organization will be enhanced as it provides a consistent methodology for financial reporting that will assist multinational corporations (MNC) to apply and use common Accounting standards for its subsidiaries as well as holding company including its parent company. It also enhances the decision making process. IFRS provides the facility to benchmark its company against the various peers around the world. Investor can analyze the growth of the organization globally. Evaluation process of performance with respect to competitors is simplified. It enhances comparability within companies of the same industry(Zakari, 2014). Capital of the business enterprise is efficiently priced. IFRS is always regarded as a trending topic. IFRS gained its importance when the European Union has decided to convert or converge their financial reporting according to the IFRS(Barry J. Epstein, 2008). Earlier European Union used to follow US GAAP. Manifestation of globalization is represented by the IFRS. IFRS is used to create an image which is in consistent with the developed nation as well to the multinational corporations. At present 115 countries such as EU, South Korea, Russia etc. have adopted the IFRS. IFRS are the most acceptable standards in the world. It represents true picture of the financial statements of the company. IFRS is based on certain principles which ensure that financial statements are comparative as well as updated for analysis purpose. IFRS is used in building the confidence of the investor(Kirk, 2009). IFRS has harmonized the accounting system across the globe. It is a process through which international standard has been set in the financial world. IFRS provides common platform for(Sharma, 2016) the developing nations and the developed nations. IFRS gives accurate, comprehensive as well as the timely information relating to the financial statements. Information provided by the IFRS is relevant at domestic level and at international level. IFRS makes the reporting standards easy for understanding purpose. It also reduces the risks associated with the financial statements. It is prudential to the interest of the public. It assures the higher quality of the financial information(Duarte, 2015). India's Current Accounting Regulatory Framework and its Progress Towards Standardizing the IFRS Under the supervision of the ASB (Accounting standard board) accountings standard are issued in India. In 1977 this body was constituted. ASB committee has been constituted under ICAI (Institute of chartered accountant of India). It involves representatives from professional bodies such as ICSI, FCCI, and government departments. Initially in India, Companies act 1956 was applicable but later on it was replaced by the Companys Act 2013. According to the section 133 of the conies act 2013 it is essential for the business enterprises to follow accounting standard which has been issued by the NFRA (national financing reporting authority) in consultation with Central Government and ICAI. In India premier accounting body which deals directly into the accounting standards is ICAI. Till now the council of India has issued 32 accounting standards. Out of 32 accounting standards AS 8 related to the "Accounting for research and development" is not applicable presently because it has been withdrawn by the ICAI. Instead of that AS 26 has been amended. Thus, effectively there are 31 accountings standards. At the early phase business transaction of the nation is quite limited. In order to compete in the global world it is very essential for the nation to have uniform accounting policy so that financial statements are comparable and understandable at global platform. In order to indulge IFRS IND AS has been issued by the ICAI which are in consistent with the IFRS. This is the big step of the nation towards the adoption of the IFRS. IND AS has been issued so that business operations in India are familiar with the basic fundamental of the IFRS. These IND AS has been specified in sec 133 of the company's act 2013(PWC, 2016). Indian accounting standards are based on certain principles which are familiar with the IFRS principles that are to give complete information to the investor relating to the performance, cash flow, and position of the financial decisions(Mirza et al., 2010). India has chosen to go for IFRS convergence rather than going for the IFRS adoption. Therefore, IND AS has been prepared which are basically and primarily based on the IFRS. Further, there are some carve outs which represent major difference between the IFRS and the IND AS(PwC, 2016). Transitional previsions which are stated under each IFRS have not been stated under IND AS. Rather a separate IND AS named as Ind S 101 has been issued which contains almost all the relevant previsions relating to the transitional provisions. IND AS 101 is related with the First time adoption of the Indian accounting standard(Unegbu, 2014). This IND AS 101 is correlated with the IFRS 1 i.e. First time adoption of the International Financial reporting standard(Mackenzie et al., 2013). IND AS and IFRS have some different terminology for instance IFRS's Statement of financial position is called as balance sheet in the Ind AS. Further in IND AS statements of profit and loss is used instead of the statement of comprehensive income(Weygandt et al., 2010). India is going for the IFRS because it will improve the comparability of the financial information with the global peers. Moreover, financial performance of the financial information can be ensured according to the industry standards. It will enhance the transparency within the financial reporting. This process will be beneficial for the key stakeholders, investors and the customers. This will ensure the better quality of the financial reporting. It will enhance the trust and confidence of the investors in the financial statements. This will pervade better access towards the financial statements within the nation. It will also help in reducing the operation cost which is spent in making the financial statements comparable in the global market. It will enhance the reliability of the financial statements(Isabel, 2015). Conclusion Hence it can be said that IFRS provides the framework or guidelines for the financial reporting. It is regarded as authoritative standards. It states various ways and methods by which reporting of the accounting transactions can be done properly. Financial statements prepared on the basis of IFRS are sophisticated, potentially informative, and comprehensive. It precisely monitors the net position of the business. It helps in maintaining the stakeholders' trust. Risks relating to misrepresentation are reduced through IFRS. It safeguards the right of the shareholders as well as investors. IFRS is imposed on the company which ensures the minimum or low level of consistency. It covers revenue recognition and expenses recognition on accrual basis. It ensures the credibility and consistency of the financial statements. IFRS method is more appropriate as compared to any other method for accounting purpose. References Barry J. Night Essays (406 words) - Holocaust Literature, Night, Literature
Night During extreme times a person can survive. One could look at NIGHT by Elie Wiesel. We can see many different people in the book fighting to survive. By examining Elie and his father one can see details of people fighting to survive. The book NIGHT shows that a person can survive extreme conditions. For example Elie ran 42 miles in one night without stopping. This shows one can push themselves just with the thought of living, even most athletes would have trouble running this far. This also shows that something horrible could make someone stronger. At another time in the book Elie watched his father being beaten. This shows that even though a loved one is being hurt Elie still thinks about survival, because he knows that if he intervened he would have been hurt or even worse killed. This also shows that one can drop into a robot like state to stop his emotions, because if he felt sad or cried he might have been harmed. For example Elies father was a 50-year-old man and he survived for over 3 years in the concentration camps. This shows that even an older person can fight to survive now days being 50 and still doing things isn't that big a thing but back then there had not been that many medical advancements. This also shows that someone can push themselves beyond normal limits of human strength. At another time Elies father was beaten and he didn't fight back. This shows that Elies father was strong enough to be beaten but a metal bar was striking him and a normal person wouldn't have been able to put up with that but since Elies father was thinking about surviving so he was stronger. This also shows that even though Elies father wanted to fight back (there's no actual evidence of this but who wouldn't want to fight back?) He didn't because he knew that he would have been killed if he fought back so by thinking about survival he knew he had to be beaten. During extreme times a person can push themselves to live. In everyday life people take hundreds of things for granite but when Elie was put into the concentration camps he had everything taken away from him. From the book one can see how to treasure the simple things in life. The book night showed many ways people survive Elie survived the concentration camps and reading his story shows his hardships and Elies father even though he didn't survive he still showed how a older man would fight to survive.
